Fit index
Does this name fit what you are building?
Availability tells you whether you can have a name. Valuation tells you what it might be worth. Neither answers the question you actually have, which is whether this name suits the business and whether anyone will find you. Four components, weights published, and the things we cannot assess named rather than guessed.
How the four components are weighted
- Says what you do — 40%. The heaviest, because it is the only component that changes whether a stranger understands the business before they read anything.
- Survives being spoken — 25%. Hyphens vanish out loud, digits are ambiguous, and a hard run of consonants gets mistyped. Measured crudely and on purpose, so you can disagree with it.
- Extension fits the field — 20%. A .com carries no connotation to clash with. A .ai on a business with nothing to do with models is a small cost paid every time the name is read.
- Distinctive — 15%. Names ending in the suffix of the moment are harder to remember as yours.
Nothing here is a valuation, an availability check, or a trademark opinion. The score is computed in your browser from the two things you typed: no account, no request, and nothing about your idea is stored or sent anywhere. How we grade our own claims.
