Research domains with Domainators in ChatGPT

Explore a topic, assess domain names and check registry status in your conversation. Open the dated evidence on Domainators when you want a closer look.

Being tested. The Domainators app for ChatGPT is in testing and is not listed in the ChatGPT app directory yet. This page will link to it once it is published.

What you can ask

  • “Assess how clearly gridnest.com matches my home battery installation business.”
  • “Find domain candidates for a tool that manages renewable energy maintenance.”
  • “Check the registry status of dentacall.ai and tell me when it was checked.”

Every answer carries the date of the evidence it rests on and a link to the matching page here, such as a topic on the trend board or a call in the forecast record.

Without an account

  • Research a field. Matching tracked topics with dated readings, the kinds of evidence behind them and any published forecast, at the freshness of your access. Without an account the readings run 30 days behind.
  • Assess a domain name. How clearly a name matches the business you describe, as a score with its components and the reasons behind them.
  • Read the forecast record. The public accuracy record with its denominators, including the misses and the calls that could not be graded.

With a connected Domainators account

  • Find domain name candidates. Name ideas for a field, each with its registry status and the time it was checked. Saved to your scan history, as a scan on the website is.
  • Check registry status. Whether the registry holds a registration for a name, which registry answered, and when.
  • See the connected account. Which Domainators account is connected, its plan, the trial end date if there is one, and the freshness that applies. Never your email address or billing details.

Access and freshness

Connecting uses the Domainators account and plan you already have. It is separate from buying a subscription, and connecting never starts, extends or resets a trial.

  • Domainator, and an account in its trial: live research, name candidates and registry checks.
  • Prospector: research 7 days behind live data, name candidates and registry checks.
  • Free, or a trial that has ended: research 30 days behind live data, name assessment and the forecast record. Name candidates and registry checks are not available, and the connection stays in place.
  • Not connected: the same public research, name assessment and forecast record.

Your plan is shown, and can be changed, in Settings on Domainators.

What it does not do

  • It does not register, buy or bid on domain names, and it spends nothing on your behalf.
  • It does not value domains, predict search rankings or search demand, or clear trademarks.
  • A registry result is not a reservation: a name with no registration found can still be premium, reserved, or registered by somebody else before you check out.
  • Links you paste are treated as text. Their pages are not opened.
  • Your saved domains, watchlists, alerts and personal briefs stay on the website. They are not part of the ChatGPT connection.

Connecting and disconnecting

When ChatGPT asks to connect Domainators, sign in on the Domainators page that opens, using the same account you use on this website, and approve the request. The page names the account being connected and offers a way to switch accounts first.

To disconnect, use Disconnect under Connected apps in Settings, Security, or remove the connection in ChatGPT. Signing out of the website does not disconnect ChatGPT. Log out everywhere, and changing your password, do.

Your data

Domainators receives only what a tool is given to work with, such as a topic, a domain name or a description of your idea, never your whole conversation. Name candidate scans are saved to your scan history. The privacy page has the details.
