Terms of service

These terms cover your use of Domainators, whether at domainators.io, through its API, or through a connected app such as Domainators in ChatGPT. By using the site, an account or a connected app you agree to them. Last updated 7 October 2026.

What Domainators provides

Domainators watches public signals around a set of topics, publishes what it observes, and makes dated forecasts that are graded afterwards in public. It also checks individual domain names against public registry data, and watches domains you tell us you own.

Everything on the site is research. It is produced by software reading public sources, and it is offered so that you can make your own decision with better information than you had.

What this is not

Nothing here is investment advice, financial advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. We are not licensed to give any of those, and a probability is not a promise.

Nothing here is a valuation. We do not estimate what a domain name is worth, and where a figure of that kind is absent it is because we have no source for it rather than because we have chosen not to show it.

Nothing here is trademark clearance or legal advice about a name. A name can read well, be available, and still belong to somebody else as a mark. Check before you buy.

Availability, expiry dates and registry history come from public registry lookups at the moment they were read, and the date of that reading is shown beside them. A name that was free when we checked may be gone by the time you act. Forecasts are probabilistic: a call at seventy percent is expected to be wrong about three times in ten, and the public record exists so you can check whether it is.

Your account

You need an account for the paid features. Keep your sign in email secure, because anybody who can read it can sign in as you. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything done with an API key you have created.

Every account starts with a 14 day trial of full Domainator access. We do not take a card for it, and nothing is charged when it ends.

You can close your account at any time in settings. Closing it removes your data from our database and cannot be undone. Cancel any subscription first, because closing the account does not stop the payments.

Paying for it

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Polar, who are the merchant of record. Your purchase contract for the payment itself is with them, they issue the receipt, and they handle tax. Their terms apply to the transaction.

Prices are shown on the pricing page. Annual plans are charged once. You can cancel a plan at any time in Settings, Billing, with one click, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. We do not meter anything, so there is no balance to run down.

If a renewal payment fails, your plan stays on for up to 24 hours while the card is retried. If it still has not gone through, the account moves to the free tier, and your watchlist and domains are kept for when the payment is sorted out.

For a refund, contact us at hello@domainators.io and we will deal with it through Polar.

Using the service reasonably

Please do not:

  • Resell, redistribute or republish the data as a competing feed or product.
  • Scrape the site, or use an API key to pull data faster than the rate limits allow, or work around those limits.
  • Share one account or one API key across several people.
  • Treat unlimited as limitless. The unlimited portfolio watch covers up to 5,000 domains per account, which fits every portfolio we expect to see. If yours is larger, write to us and we will set it up with you.
  • Use the service to break the law, to infringe somebody else’s rights, or to register names in bad faith against a trademark.

Quoting figures from the public record with a link back is fine and encouraged. That is what the record is for.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links to registrars earn us a commission. This never changes the order providers appear in or the verdicts shown, and the affiliate disclosure explains exactly how.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service running and cannot promise it will never be unavailable. Collection depends on public sources outside our control, and where one of them stops answering the affected figures say so rather than filling the gap with a guess.

We may change the service and these terms. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell subscribers by email before it takes effect, and you can cancel.

Ending it

You can stop using Domainators at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and where we do we will say why and refund any unused part of a paid period.

Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make using it, for money spent or not spent on domain names, or for indirect or consequential loss. Where we are liable, that liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here removes rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Oregon in the United States, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, the protections of your own country still apply to you.
